Case description
Case description
Dave is an employee in a big company and his main objective is to fulfill internal clients' small technical requests. He has been doing that job for several years. His manager has given him a raise every year, trained him every now and then, provided his preferred toolset for his job. Dave is a member of a small team. His manager sees that Dave's spark is gone but the requested work is more or less done. And his aura has started to demotivate the whole team.
The manager has done multiple 1:1 conversations and learned:
* Dave is good at his job but can't handle bigger problems
* Dave would like to do short tasks
* Dave has good technical experience but does not have the core skills to advance further in his field of work
* Dave has low self-esteem
* He doesn't want to quit his job because he has financial obligations
* Dave has a poisonous relationship at home
* Dave is struggling with his school and is behind
Key question
What should the manager do with Dave - there is no reason to fire Dave and he does not want to leave?
How to keep team members motivated so they can't be affected by Dave's bad aura?
Which CaseHub tool would you use, and how? After writing your suggestions, you'll see what other Casehub members have offered and what was the live session outcome.
